MILA is a high-speed catamaran vessel known for its remarkable speed and efficient design built by Asianfast Marine Solutions, a reputable shipbuilder known for producing fast and reliable marine crafts.

MILA’s maximum service speed of 30 knots enables swift transit between destinations. This high speed is powered by advanced marine engines, ensuring stability in operations.

The vessel’s dimensions contribute to its balanced performance and passenger comfort:

• GT: 328 tonnes 
• NT: 117 tonnes 

The catamaran design ensures steadiness at full speed and exhibits good seakeeping capability in waters with high wave heights. The design yields comfortable voyages for passengers while maintaining agility in navigation. 

Capacities and Layout

With a seating capacity of 330 passengers, MILA is designed for medium to high-density passenger transport, making it suitable for popular coastal routes. The internal arrangement is optimized for comfort and convenience, providing ample space for passenger movement and seating. 

From the general arrangement plans, the vessel is equipped with: 

• 270 seats on the main deck 
• 60 seats on the upper deck 
• Crew accommodation for 3 personnel on the port side and 3 on the starboard side for adequate rest areas of operational staff. 

The vessel also features systematized baggage storage solutions and dedicated crew areas, supporting smooth operations. 

Engine and Propulsion

MILA is powered by:

• (2) x MTU 16V2000M72 engines
• Each engine provides 1440 kW at 2250 rpm, ensuring high performance and reliability.

The MTU engines are known for their fuel efficiency and lower emissions, aligning with modern maritime environmental standards.

Design and Aesthetics

The vessel’s exterior design is both functional and visually appealing. It features a streamlined profile to enhance hydrodynamic efficiency and reduce drag, contributing to its high-speed capabilities. 

According to the vessel’s color scheme specifications: 

• The primary color palette includes Ruby Red (RAL 3003), Capri Blue (RAL 5019), and Cobalt Blue (RAL 5013), giving the vessel a vibrant and notable appearance. 

Background

Originally launched as Asianfast 2, the vessel served under a different operator before being acquired and rebranded as MILA. The transition represents adaptability in its operational life suitable with new routes and passenger demands. 

The vessel’s design was done by SBF Marine Solutions, known for innovative naval architecture, ensuring compliance with international maritime safety and construction standards.
